Day 1
Arrival in Antananarivo
Airport welcome and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Sun City hotel or similar.
Day 2
Antananarivo - Antsirabe
The journey begins by crossing the highlands along the RN7 to reach the town of Antsirabe, the "city of water". Along the way, a stop in Ambatolampy is a must to visit a traditional workshop making aluminum cooking pots. Once in Antsirabe, we check in at the hotel before visiting the town and some workshops, including craftsmen carving zebu horn. Dinner and overnight at the Hasina hotel or similar.
Day 3
Antsirabe - Ambositra - Fianarantsoa
Departure from Antsirabe after breakfast. Arrival in Ambositra after a 2-hour drive, the "town of Malagasy craftsmanship". Visit workshops producing Malagasy arts and crafts, notably marquetry, and browse the boutiques. We continue after lunch and arrive in Fianarantsoa after a 4-hour drive. Check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Mahamanina hotel or similar.
Day 4
Fianarantsoa - Manakara by train
An early breakfast as the train departs at 7am; the car drops us at the railway station for a truly lush, scenic journey to Manakara. The scenery is fabulous, and at each stop villagers sell their local specialties - be sure to grab a snack. Arrival in Manakara after 7 to 8 hours' travel. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Les Antemoro hotel or similar.
Day 5
Visit to the Pangalanes Canal
A full day's excursion by dugout canoe along the Pangalanes Canal to a fishing village, with a visit to a vanilla plantation and an essential oil distillery. Our canoe guide will prepare a meal for us on site. Possibility of swimming in the Indian Ocean. Return to Manakara in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.
Day 6
Manakara - Ranomafana
Departure for Ranomafana after breakfast. We cross lush green scenery dotted with traveler's palms (ravinala). On arrival, check in at the hotel and lunch. In the afternoon, a walking visit of the village: the hot spring baths, where you can bathe if you wish. We plan a night visit to the park. Overnight at the Yhary hotel or similar.
Day 7
Ranomafana - Ambalavao - Ranohira
Breakfast, then departure for a morning visit to Ranomafana National Park. After the visit, we head to Ambalavao, the "town of wine", with lunch on site and a visit to the Antaimoro paper-making workshop, the town's specialty. We continue our journey, stopping at the Anja village reserve for a one-hour visit. We then continue on, crossing the beautiful scenery of the south. Arrival in Ranohira (Isalo) in the late afternoon. Check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Les Toiles de l'Isalo hotel or similar.
Day 8
Visit to Isalo National Park
Departure after breakfast for a visit to Isalo National Park. This walk requires sturdy walking shoes. We follow the Namaza circuit trail, where we can see numerous lemurs, then continue on to the Blue Pool and the Black Pool, as well as the Nymphs' Waterfall. To unwind after this tiring day, we can take a swim in the natural pool as an optional activity. We then head back. Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.
Day 9
Ranohira - Tulear - Ifaty
We leave Ranohira for Ifaty. We stop at the Antsokay Arboretum for a one-hour visit, a botanical garden with over 900 species of plants endemic to the south of the island. Lunch in Tuléar, then we continue on to Ifaty. Dinner and overnight at the Ifaty Beach Club hotel or similar.
Day 10 - 11
Ifaty
Two days of relaxation. Several optional activities are available: snorkeling or scuba diving, an excursion into the baobab forest, and more. Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.
Day 12
Ifaty - Tuléar - Antananarivo
Transfer to Tuléar airport according to flight schedule, then flight to Antananarivo. Dinner and overnight at the Sun City hotel or similar.
Day 13
Antananarivo - Home country
Transfer to the airport according to flight schedule and return to your home country. End of services.
