Day 1
Arrival in Antananarivo
Airport welcome, then transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the Sun City hotel.
Day 2
Antananarivo - Ankarafantsika
We leave Antananarivo early in the morning to take the RN4 heading northwest. You will be amazed by the vastness of the scenery as we cross the famous Betsiboka River, carrying tons of laterite that give it its red color. We may spot gold prospectors around Maevatanana. Free lunch along the way, then continue towards Ankarafantsika National Park. Arrival in the early afternoon. Check in at the hotel; a night walk is possible. Dinner and overnight at the Blue Vanga Lodge.
Day 3
Ankarafantsika - Majunga
Morning visit to Ankarafantsika National Park, a site renowned for its rich birdlife and its various species of chameleons and tortoises endemic to Madagascar. During the walk inside the park, we may see lemurs such as the sifaka, as well as nocturnal species and precious woods such as rosewood and sacred wood. After lunch, we continue to Majunga (2 hours' drive) and check in at the hotel. In the evening, a stroll and dinner along the famous seafront. Overnight at the Le Badamier hotel or similar.
Day 4
Majunga - Antsohihy
Early morning, we leave Majunga heading north. Lunch along the way. A long leg requiring several stops to stretch our legs. Madagascar's longest and largest bridge spans the Sofia River, 30 km from Port Bergé. Expected arrival in the mid-afternoon, with a visit to this town renowned for its chromite mines before checking in at the hotel for the night. Dinner and overnight at the Le Paradisier hotel or similar.
Day 5
Antsohihy - Ambilobe - Ankarana
Early morning departure towards the town of Ambanja. One stretch of track is a little difficult but offers striking scenery along the way. Late afternoon arrival, check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Relais de l'Ankarana hotel or similar.
Day 6
Visit to Ankarana National Park
A hike up onto the roof of the famous Tsingy (formations of sharp limestone pinnacles) that dominate this superb park. Visit to the caves with their crystalline formations... Free picnic lunch on site, then return to the hotel towards the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7
Ankarana - Montagne d'Ambre
Breakfast, then we take the road to Montagne d'Ambre. About thirty kilometers south of the town of Diego lies Montagne d'Ambre National Park, which rises to 1,475 m and immerses us in humid tropical vegetation. An excursion within the park is recommended to discover its many species of flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight at the Nature Lodge hotel, located at the park entrance, or similar.
Day 8
Montagne d'Ambre - Diego Suarez
After breakfast, a roughly 3-hour walk through primary forest to discover waterfalls, lakes, tree ferns, orchids, lemurs, chameleons and more. In the afternoon, we head to Diego. On arrival, check in at the hotel with free time. Dinner and overnight at the Central hotel or similar.
Day 9 - 10
Visit to Diego Suarez
Two days of discoveries. Optionally, we can take an excursion to the 3 bays - Dunes Bay, Pigeons Bay and Sakalava Bay - as well as the Emerald Sea. Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.
Day 11
Diego Suarez - Antananarivo
Transfer to the airport according to flight schedule, then flight to the capital. Airport welcome on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Sun City hotel or similar.
Day 12
Antananarivo - Home country
Transfer to the airport according to flight schedule for the return trip to your home country. End of services.
